Minus 8 Ice Wine Vinegar

Minus 8 Ice Wine Vinegar Reviews

Other Picture

Minus 8 Ice Wine Vinegar Feature

  • Rare and limited in production, Minus 8 Wine Vinegar is an exquisite creation from wintry Canadian vineyards.
  • Far more complex and flavorful that aged balsamics.
  • The "secret" ingredient used by the best chefs from New York to LA.
  • Great Recipes from Foie Gras to Ice Cream available at minus8vinegar.com.
  • Share the secret with the one you love!
The process is painstaking, slow and laborious, but worth every step. No shortcuts are taken, no inferior fruit picked, no spoiled wine made into vinegar, Minus 8 is never boiled and never hurried. The superior quality that sets Minus 8 apart is guaranteed. All Minus 8 is hand-crafted by one winemaker at one vineyard, from ultra premium quality fruit grown to the strictest standards. First, each vine must be protected from hungry animals with netting, until harvest when the nets are removed. The harvest conditions for Minus 8 Wine Vinegar are often brutally cold temperatures below -8°C (17°F), winter winds and night skies make a bone chilling combination for the people who hand pick and press the grapes. Why risk frostbite for frozen grapes? The answer is in the taste. Months of weathering give the grapes unmistakable flavors found nowhere else; the slow natural freezing concentrates those flavors. The winemaker blends juices from 8 varieties of grapes elevated and harvested in this way to attain the intricate flavor profile and delicate balance. First, wine is made from the juice; a delicious luxury in itself. But then this wine is fermented, slowly, over months, alcohol transforming to acetic acid, or vinegar. Temperatures are monitored; overheating is avoided to make sure that every characteristic aroma and taste of the original wines is maintained. The unique fermentation culture used to produce Minus 8 was developed with the first making of Minus 8 many years ago, and it is cared for year after year for consistency. This vinegar isn't Minus 8 until it has been aged for years partially in French oak barrels, then blended with vinegars dating back to 1997, and finally bottled. Minus 8 is very limited in production.

San Macario Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lucca 2010 - pack of 2

San Macario Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lucca 2010 - pack of 2 Reviews

Other Picture

San Macario Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lucca 2010 - pack of 2 Feature

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cold Pressed
  • DOP Lucca, rich and buttery
  • Full bodied and sweet
  • frantoiano, leccino, pendolino and moraiolo
  • 500 ml x 2
Grown on a hillside above Lucca, this DOP certified oil is rich, full-bodied and sweet. Very buttery!

San Macario enhances the flavor of food rather than asserting itself. It includes a blend of four different types of olives-- frantoiano, leccino, pendolino and moraiolo-- all grown on the hill where the unique microclimate of Lucca is the ideal environment in which this special flavor develops. The leccino olive gives the olive oil its rounder-sweeter flavor.

The beautiful label illustration featuring the Saint, San Macario, on the road below the olive orchards, is a dramatic reinforcement of the local roots of the brand. This is a powerful connection to the history of Lucca, where pilgrims made their journey along the Via Francigena, or "pilgrim road", for centuries.

Planeta Extra Virgin Olive Oil DOP 2010 Feature

  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Cold Pressed
  • High polyphenols, low acid, and heart healthy
  • nocellara, biancolilla, and cerasuola olives
  • Fresh, Grassy, and Peppery!
  • 500 ml
Planeta extra virgin olive oil comes from the noted DOP Valle di Mazara. This area is in western Sicily, running north to south, just east of the coastal zone Valli Trapanesi. Previously, produced only for family, Planeta has been bottled for sale for just over 10 years. They've made great strides and certainly produce a top-quality unfiltered extra virgin olive oil, with both DOP certification and notable awards. This selection received a 95 point rating from Flos Olei! The family grove, Capparrina, is situated on fertile land by the sea near Menfi, in the province of Agrigento. Planeta is composed of Nocellara del Belice (50%), Cerasuola (30%) and Biancollila (20%) olives. We found the intense aroma and flavors to be herbaceous, with elements of citrus, artichokes, and tomatoes. The flavor is full and layered with a spicy-peppery finish.
